At its core, the UKITB Strategy is rooted in enabling excellence and fostering a vibrant, skilled UK and Ireland community within the field of testing and quality assurance—the strategic focus centres around industrialisation, professionalisation and certification.

As the UK Chapter for the TMMi Foundation, the model is a leading universal standard reference that provides industry’s best practices that are based on being evaluated against various models and established use across different lifecycle models. The TMMi model provides test effectiveness and efficiency in product quality, as well as test process improvements and prioritisation of process areas.
UKITB is the UK National Board for ISTQB®, managing the rollout of the world’s largest test certification scheme in the UK. We offer over 25 ISTQB® certificates, ranging from Foundation to Expert level, including several Specialist certifications, including the new ISTQB Add-on Practical Tester.
The UK and Ireland Testing Board (UKITB) is made up of volunteers from within the UK and Ireland. The Directors work voluntarily on the board. All are specialists, practitioners, consultants and trainers who have experience in software testing and quality assurance-related positions.
The board represents a cross-section of testing companies from the UK and Ireland (large companies, smaller companies and training providers) where no more than 49% of the board can be selected from any one company.
Each board member has a set of defined responsibilities as shown in the image.
