Goodbye Clive Bates

On the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of April 2023, the UKITB Board Members met in Telford Shropshire, to celebrate and thank Clive Bates, the longest serving member of the UKITB, for everything that he has contributed to the UK and Ireland Testing Board (UKTB / UKNE) and the ISTQB over the last 30 years.  Clive has chosen to retire from the UKITB / ISTQB and step down as the UKI Accreditation Chair.

The board met on an emotional Saturday evening for a celebration meal where Clive was presented with a few keepsakes to remember his time with the board.

On the Sunday, the board formally met for a final time with Clive in attendance at Telford Ice Rink, the home of the Telford Tigers whom the UKITB sponsor.

Following a very successful board meeting Clive and the remaining UKITB directors had the opportunity to meet the General Manager and Head Coach of the Telford Tigers, have a tour of some of the facilities before watching an exciting game  of Ice Hockey. On the final whistle Clive had the honour of presenting the Man of the Match beers to both the home and away teams.

"Clive has been integral to the development of testing certifications in the UK and worldwide, starting his time with me on the ISEB Software Testing Board way back in 1996, then moving into ISTQB when it started. Thank you Clive for your years of dedicated service you will be missed."
